Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: SCARCE Antique BACON ARMS CO. Pocket Revolver Number “1230” of About 3,000 Produced During Civil War-era Here we present an antique Bacon Pocket Model Revolver, made circa 1862 in Norwich, Connecticut. Thomas K. Bacon was the founder of the company and was also involved with the Manhattan Fire Arms Co. as the superintendent. He also had business dealings with Ethan Allen and Allen & Thurber. When Manhattan moved their operation away from Norwich, Bacon left the company to stay behind and work on his own firearms manufacturing company. Part of Bacon’s contract with Manhattan included a “no-compete” clause that he would have been in violation of if the heads of Manhattan had bothered to sign the agreement. Nevertheless, they still took him to court with no official judgement recorded. Bacon’s arms were popular on the commercial market and many made their way onto Civil War battlefields upon being privately purchased by soldiers. This is a fine example of a second model. The top of the barrel is marked “BACON MF’G CO NORWICH CONN.” The overall condition is near fine. Most of the metal surfaces have a nice gray patina with original blue strong on the cylinder with traces in protected parts of the revolver. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The original walnut grips are in very good shape. The bore is sharp and shiny. The action is crisp and excellent. Here is a fabulous example of a Civil War-era Bacon revolver that would have been a companion on the battlefield or the home front. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .31 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE.
