1920s Pistol Chambered for .25 ACP
Here we present a Walther Model 9 Semi-Automatic Pistol, manufactured circa 1924 in Germany. The Walther Model 9 is a striker fired semi-automatic pistol. The decision to use a striker vsersus that of an internal hammer like on the Walther Model 8 was to reduce overall size of the gun. It has a 6 round detachable box magazine. It was intended for use as a very concealable pistol for self-protection.
The left side of the frame is marked “WALTHERS PATENT MOD 9”. The right side is marked “WAFFENFABRIK WALTHER ZELLA-MEHLIS (THUR)”.
The overall condition is very good. The blue finish is 90% intact. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are not present. The magazine is “FN” marked and fully functional. The bore is very good with strong rifling. The action on this pistol is excellent.
