Shorter, Lighter, Handier Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54R
Here we present a Soviet Model 1938 Mosin Nagant Carbine, made in 1944 at the Tula arsenal during World War II. The M38 was a much handier variant of the full-length Model 91/30. The Mosin Nagant has become iconic of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Front Theater of World War II. Built to be absolutely rugged and reliable, they are also powerful and hold a special place in collectors’ hearts.
The barrel is marked with a large star, along with “1944”, the serial number, the Tula arsenal mark and various proof and acceptance markings. The bottom of the muzzle end of the barrel is marked by the importer. Rear sight is graduated to 1000 meters.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have good blue finish. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is in good shape with strong rifling and a short counterbore at the muzzle. The stock is in good shape. The action on this carbine is excellent, strong and crisp.
