Description:
For sale is a very nice set of large bore cased French percussion officers pistols by LaPage Paris. They are found in the original box complete with most all of the original accouterments including screwdriver, cap box, powder flask and bullet mold. Both pistols are engraved FNI P LEPAGE MOUTIER A PARIS on the top of the barrels which still retain lots of the original factory brown striped finish. They are profusely and finely engraved on the lockplates, hammers, breaches, tangs, trigger guards, butt caps (w/ lanyard rings) , and nose caps.  They are in very good shape for their age showing slight signs of age and use. The stocks are deep relief carved with a scroll pattern showing some slight signs of handling use. There is a silver escutcheon on the top of each wrist bearing the script initials JC. They measure approximately 14 inches long each and the bores measure a stunning 70 caliber on the bore gauge. They show sharp heavy rifiling protruding from each muzzle. The case (missing key) apears to have some slight professional restoration but looks great other than one small sliver of wood missing from the bottom left side. It has a large name plate on the top of the box that has two words that are pretty well rubbed out and barely legible. The box is locked and I do not have the key to open it. The action on one gun is very strong and operates flawlessly. The other has a very strong spring but does not lock in the back position and requires correction. Overall a nice honest and attractive brace of Lepage pistols at a affordable price. Please contact me with any questions you might have and thank you for your interest!!
