Description:
.30-40 caliber, 22" barrel with the correct M1895 rear sight. Very fine wood with a faint "1896" dated cartouche on the left wrist. Strong circle "P" behind the lower tang. Retaining areas of original blue on the barrel and the smokey arsenal casehardened receiver showing very crisp stampings. Nice bright bore. This carbine is totally original, not modified or upgraded. This carbine is identified as being issued to the 9th Cavalry. The 9th Cavalry was a black regiment that participated in battle of San Juan Hill. Very Very scarce to find.
