“1943” Dated SMLE in .303 British
Here we present a Short Magazine Lee-Enfield No. 1 MK III* Rifle, made in 1943. The Lee-Enfield is a bolt-action, magazine fed, repeating rifle that served as the main firearm used by the military forces of the British Empire and Commonwealth during the first half of the 20th century. This rifle would have served during World War II.
The right side is marked “CROWN/GR/1943/SHT LE/III*”.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces retain 70% blue finish. The markings are clear and legible. The matching serial number “43841” is found on the muzzle cap, stock, receiver, and rear sight. The bore is sharp and bright. The stock is solid. The action on this rifle is excellent.
