This .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.” The top of the frame is marked “U.S. RIFLE/CAL .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY”. The serial number on the receiver indicates that it was made in December of 1943. The barrel is also dated “43”. The overall condition is very good. Parkerization is in good condition. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is sharp and bright. The stock is in good shape. The action is excellent. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches.
