Description:
For sale is a rare 2nd model Olympic 22 short Target pistol . Gun is in excellent shape with 95% plus finish , excellent bright shinny bore and excellent clip . The pistol has had a Micro rear sight added , [ superior to Davis rear sight ] , with coresponding custom front sight . Both barrel weights are included , plus the filler strip to use when the barrel weights are omitted . Also included is the 4.5 inch target barrel in about unfired condition , with filler strip and custom front sight to match the micro rear sight .This gun was made in the early 50s , 52 or 53 , serial # 4235XX. It and Hi Standard dominated pistol target shooting into the late 60s . The Olympic Model is quite rare and one of the first to produce an Alumimum slide to use with the 22 shorts. In this condition , it is a real collector piece . A Hi Standard Olympic used by Bill McMillan won the Olympics , beating the Europeon Hammerellis and Wathlers . For the first time an American pistol held it's own against the Europeons in rapid fire competition . High water mark of American craftsmanship in handguns.
