I have for sale one of my all time favorite guns, a Merkel 280EL. This is the exact model I grouse hunt with and can't say enough good things about these guns. From the way they look to the way they are built the gun screams quality. Of course it is 28 gauge with 28 inch barrels, straight english grip stock in luxury grade wood, splinter forend, double triggers, and from a limited run of 100 guns this is number 41. Even with the 28 inch barrels this gun weighs in at only 5 pounds 6 ounces so it is in my eyes the perfect upland gun. Stock dimensions are 1 3/8 X 2 1/2 X 14 3/8 over the original Merkel butt plate and has neutral cast. Lovely game scene engraving is signed by "SH" which stands for Silke Henke and her engraving is beautiful with rabbits on one side and quail on the other. Condition of the gun is excellent plus with only one or two very, small and light impressions. These guns are selling new for $8200 and they of course are not from the limited run of 100 numbered guns. Chokes are .007 and .015 as marked VZ and 1/2. Price of this gun is $5000 plus $50 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned.
