Here is a hammer one does not see as often as the Colt Single Action. Both parts have probably been in a 1878 colt double action.The hammer nose ( firing pin ) and notches look good to me. Not showing any filing on notches.Below the firing pin, the face of U slot shows a little bit of filing; though no evidence of welding,or brazing. Anyone out there that may have a frame missing these parts,and wish to sell? I need a nickel barrel assembly for a Smith & Wesson .44 double action top-break and will trade. The trigger for the 1878 is fine.
