Here we present an Imperial German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) Pistole Parabellum 1908 Military Luger Pistol, made in 1910 in Berlin. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars.
This pistol was issued to the German military just on the cusp of the Great War. It features the “DWM” monogrammed logo on the top of the toggle. Serial numbering is in the military style, not hidden. Military acceptance marks on the right side.
The overall condition is fair. This pistol was chrome plated years ago and some of it is peeling. Markings are legible. The numbers match, with the exception of the magazine. The bore is dull with worn rifling, no pitting. The grips are in fair condition and match numerically as well. The action on this pistol is strong.
