Description:
Springfield 45-70 Carbine. Made 1880, and has 1880 stock cartouche. Was Arsenal upgraded in the 1880s with the stronger 1884 breechblock and improved carbine marked Buffington rear sight. Crisp solid action. Bright bore with clear distinct rifling, showing just light roughness. Lots of color case hardening on inside of breech block. Strong solid wood with a couple of surface cracks. Buyer must be over 21 and legal in his state. I will pay insured shipping in a new case.
