Description:
ANIB Springfield M1-C Garand sniper rifle. Serial number is 3552435, making this a early to mid 1945 manufactured receiver. The receiver is fitted with a Springfield barrel dated 3/52 and correct Griffin & Howe scope mount numbered 3502500. The breech is in the white, the bore is perfect and erosion measures 2 at the throat and 1 at the muzzle. The op rod, bolt and trigger group are Springfield manufacture. The trigger group and gas port cylinder are milled WW2. There is a detailed DCM data sheet included with a description of all parts on this rifle. Op rod and bearing surfaces show no wear. The receiver, barrel and all small parts retain 98+% of the parkerized finish applied when the rifle was re-worked in 1952. Overall the metal finish is excellent and in unissued condition. The stock is also in high condition with only a few very light handling marks. The rifle comes with its original shipping container with paper work showing rifle was shipped from DCM in Feb. of 1996. An itemized packing list from CMP is also included that shows all accessories are present with rifle. Most accessories are still sealed in their original packaging to include the milled conical flash hider, and sling. The only items that are unsealed are the MRT treated leather cheek pad and the Libby Owens Ford manufactured M84 scope. The leather cheek pad is uninstalled and in excellent condition, showing only very mild verdigris on the brass grommets and the two brass screws and leather thong are present. The LOF M84 optics are crystal clear, with the proper and intact post and cross hair, and there are no dust or flakes present. The serial numbered M84 scope matches the packing list and all adjustments and caps work as they should. An excellent example of The M1-C Sniper that is particularly desirable in that it is still unfired and unassembled as shipped from the CMP. Honest papered M1-C's don't come around very often, don't miss your chance to own this classic WW2 Sniper rifle.
