The U.S. Army NCO Sword was adopted by the U.S. Army Ordnance Department in 1840. This sword was worn by U.S. Army Non-commissioned Officers and has seen service in many famous campaigns including the Mexican War, the American Civil War and the Spanish American War. The ricasso is marked “COLLINS & CO/HARTFORD/CONN”. The right side is marked “1861”. The overall condition is good. The blade is 31-1/2 inches in length and the tip has been blunted.
