Model 1840 Musician Sword, made in Hartford, Connecticut in 1862. The M1840 Musician’s Sword was quite literally made for the man in uniform who more frequently wielded a musical instrument than a firearm. The story has it that the concept for such a weapon materialized during the American Revolutionary War, when soldier musicians would walk onto the battlefield with the regular men, and if necessary, would have to defend themselves with their blades. The ricasso is marked “COLLINS & CO/HARTFORD/CONN.1862”. The overall condition is good. The blade is 28 inches in length. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail!
