Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: If you have been looking for an affordable but yet attractive Belgian Browning A5 to take afield and shoot this is it. Manufactured in the FN Belgium factory in 1968, this Browning Model A5 Light Twelve has a 27.5" inch barrel that is choked "Modified". The gun is overall in very good all-original condition with 90%+ of the original factory blue finish remianing and a perfect bore. The vast majority of the blue finish that is thin or missing is from carry wear on the upper and lower grip tangs, and the bottom edges of the receiver at the natural balance point. The gun has obviously been well cared for during it's life but appears to have been carried afield and used at times. As mentioned above, the bore in this A5 is perfect with no pitting, erosion, dents, or bulges. The vent rib on the barrel is also in excellent shape, tight to the barrel with no dents or bends. The original checkered Walnut stock set is in very good shape overall. There are some minor dings and small handling marks, but it still has nice clean and crisp checkering and an attractive appearance. The forearms on these Belgian guns have a propensity to crack at the rear, and this one has one very small crack on the left side rear edge. It will not open up when pulled and has likely aleady been fixed. There is also one small crack on the buttstock at the right rear edge of the upper tang. It is about a half centimeter long and should not cause any problems in the future. There are close-up pictures of both of these areas provided in this listing. The original factory varnish on this Light Twelve is still fully intact and bright and clean. There is no spiderweb-like cracking in the varnish like so we see in so many of these 1960's vintage A5s. Mechanically this Browning Light Twelve is perfect. All of the controls work 100% like the day it left the factory, and the internal parts show very little wear. The springs are all strong and the bolt goes into battery with authority. This A5 has obviously been carried a lot more than it has been actually fired. The Belgian-made Browning A5 is an iconic shotgun that is well known for being both dependable and well-built. It is really a true classic and this particular Light Twelve could be carried with pride into any dove field or upland hunt for generations to come.
