BRITISH Antique Model 1822 INFANTRY OFFICERS Saber
Here we present an antique British Model 1822 Infantry Officers Sword, made circa the 1820s. This saber features a robust iron guard with business-like ornamentation of a crown cipher. The back strap of the grip is scalloped. The ricasso is marked “PROVED”. This sword was broken and reprofiled and sharped at some point.
The overall condition is fair. The shortened blade is 25-1/2 inches in length. The iron is dark with age. The blade is dark and weathered. The rayskin grip is in good shape.
