Manufacturer: 1965 ~ S# 5L 31353. The "5" and a single letter (L), represents 1965 manufacture. Not a Salt Wood rifle. Beginning in 1966 to 1973 Browning used salt to cure the raw wood used for gun stocks to spead up drying. Many of these rifles (1966-1973) have metal
Caliber Info: 7mm Remington Magnum.
Metal Condition: Very good with but just a few small marks.
Wood Condition: Good with some scratches, small nicks and small scrapes. The high gloss finish is still very glossy, however, it is checked all over. Checked, checking, crazed: Fine cracks in the glossy finish, common with FN Brownings and Weatherby Mark V rifles.
Bore Condition: Very good bore, lightly shot.
Barrels: 24" Barrel.
Triggers: Single, seratted (grooved) trigger.
Stock: Checkered walnut, pistol grip stock with good contrasting grain, Monte Carlo cheekpiece, sling swivel studs and original Browning recoil pad.
Stock Dimensions:
13 1/2" Length of pull.
Fore End: Wrap-around, diamond point checkering with large diamond on the bottom.
Butt Pad: Browning recoil pad.
Weight: 8 Lbs. 6 Oz.
Sights: Original factory front hooded blade sight and rear folding leaf sight. Rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
