BRITISH Antique 1796 Light CAVALRY Saber
In Iron Scabbard
Here we present an antique British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Saber, made circa 1800. This saber would have been used in the Napoleonic Wars of the early 19th Century. It features a sweeping cutting blade with wide 23-1/2 inch fullers on either side. Iron hilt has a stirrup style knucklebow. Grip is leather wrapped wood. Scabbard is iron. The overall condition is good. Iron is dark with age. The blade is semi-bright. Leather wrap is about 80% present. Scabbard shows a fair amount of weathering and use.
