BRITISH Antique “WARD” SxS Percussion SHOTGUN
Victorian Era English Shotgun
Here we present an antique Side by Side Percussion Shotgun, manufactured by Ward & Son in Birmingham, England. Ward & Son were one of very many Birmingham gunmakers during the Victorian era. They existed from around 1859 to 1935. Generally, they served the less expensive, mass production end of the market at the time.
Both locks are marked “WARD”. The top of the barrel is marked “LONDON FINE TWIST”.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces bear a light patina. The twist pattern on the barrels is still visible. The markings are clear and legible. The bores are in good shape, smooth, with a little reflection. The stock is solid and in good shape. The action on this shotgun is excellent.
