Nazi Third Reich Proofed Infantry Rifle Dated 1945
Here we present a World War II “byf 45” Code Mauser K98 Bolt Action Rifle, made in 1945 in Oberndorft, Germany. Not only is this an example of Mauser’s perfected rifle, the standard by which all other bolt action rifles continue to be measured, it is also a rifle used by the Third Reich during World War II.
The receiver is marked “byf 45”, indicating that it was made by Mauser in 1945. “byf” was Mauser’s code designation. The right side of the stock is marked with a waffenamt “Eagle/135” as is the magazine plate. The magazine plate is also marked “SVW” and “byf”.
The overall condition is near fine. The original blue finish is 75% intact. The markings are clear and legible. Serial numbers match. The bore is clear and bright. The stock is in great shape, smooth and solid. The action on this rifle is excellent. Here is a fantastic example of a Mauser K98 Rifle that was made the last year of the war.
