1876 .45-60 ROUND BARREL RIFLE, #50XXX, MADE 1884 WITH MINTY BORE! This one turned up here in Montana. When I got it, the bore looked okay, but hard to tell…A couple of oily patches through the bore turned up a bore that is about mint! Obviously, this one was well taken care of. The uncleaned receiver blue has thinned, aged and faded, but there is nice blue around the side plates and in all the more protected areas with the balance an aged/blue-gray. Nice blue on the loading gate, original dust cover with good blue along the rails, even has some good case color on the hammer. Brass lifter marked “45-60” as is the barrel. 28” barrel and mag are an even and also uncleaned thinned and aged blue mixing plum and gray. Original buckhorn rear sight with correct Winchester blade front sight. Excellent butt stock and forend with good wood to metal fit. The butt stock appears to have fancier than standard walnut with an attractive dense and dark grain. Tight action and a really nice 134 year old ’76 with a great bore!
