SPECIAL ORDER 1893 OCTAGON RIFLE WITH HALF MAGAZINE IN SCARCE .32-40 CALIBER WITH “SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL” MARKED BARREL AND MINTY BORE! #408XXX, MADE C.1908. Another rifle that turned up here in Montana, this is a really fine example with nearly all the deep blue remaining on the 26” barrel and mag tube with only light age. The receiver is mainly a cloudy gray with some traces of case color in the most protected areas and on the upper lever along with good blue on the loading gate. Fine butt stock and forend with only light handling marks and tight wood to metal fit. Tight action and great bore. This is a very scarce combination of barrel and magazine in .32-40 caliber. Really attractive.
