Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Musket. This is the rarest configuration of the Model 92. This is chambered for .44-40 WCF. 30” round barrel, full length, military style forearm with military style rear sight. Wood retains most of the original finish with some handling marks. It has three notches carved at the left side of the heel and one at the toe and can only imagine what they represent. Receiver retains most all of blue finish on the flat sides but most of the rest of the frame has silvered. Has military style butt plate to equip a cleaning rod (does not have one). Bore has strong rifling and is shiny with some frosting and slight pitting. Mechanics are sound and tight. This would be a great addition for most any Winchester collection. Manufactured 1903
