Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. According to the serial number and the Standard Catalogue of Smith & Wesson 4th Edition, this Model 10 was manufactured between 1961 and 1962. It comes with its original box. The Model 10 has been in continuous production in one form or another since 1899, resulting in one of the longest production-runs in firearms history. This example has the 4" barrel. The cylinder length is roughly 1.56". It appears to have seen little use. The bore is in pristine condition. There is some small amount of residue still inside. The finish on this pistol is in nearly pristine condition. There a small spot of holster wear on the right side of the barrel at the muzzle. The Smith’s markings are clear and legible, including the patent dates. Internally, the mechanisms are still tight, and it still has a good double action pull. The single-action pull is light. TV viewers might remember the Model 10 as one of the two revolvers carried by Barney Fife on the Andy Griffith show (the other being the Colt Official Police). Given the excellent condition, and the presence of the box, this Model 10 would be a nice addition to an S&W collection.
