Description:
General Specs: Parker, Year 1912, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, IC/M, LOP 14 1/16", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 1/2"
Serial Number: 160817

Let’s face it, Parker doubles are, feature for feature, grade for grade, the most costly vintage American double on the market.  Just like in 1912 when the Parker Trojan model was first introduced, some of us cannot afford an engraved “GRADED” Parker 20ga., so Parker gave us the Trojan Model.  The Trojan Model makes it affordable to walk the fields and clays course with the gun you have always wanted; a Parker just like your dad’s or granddad’s.  The Trojan is the exact same mechanism as any other Parker with a few less options you simply don’t need to go shoot your favorite birds or clays.  This particular Trojan, sn160817 was built in 1912, the first year of Trojan production.  The early Trojans had the “doll’s head” rib extension, making the early guns more desirable than the late ones.  You can tell this gun was used a lot over its 105 years of life, but also cared for as it is in very clean condition with perfect screws, superb wood to metal fit, full length buttstock that still has the curve to a butt plate, all original factory finishes on the metal, and the more desirable 28” barrels choked IC/M.  The wood has been nicely restored with 10 coats of a hand-rubbed Truoil finish.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN, THE ACTION HAVING BEEN STRIPPED TO THE SMALLEST PART, ULTRASONIC CLEANED, ALL PARTS INSPECTED FOR FUNCTION, AND LUBRICATED AND REASSEMBLED.  VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty.  Who does that on a 105-year-old gun???  VFI, that is who!  Weighing in at a svelte 6lbs. 5oz. and balanced perfectly on the hinge pin, it is a great gun for long walks in the upland fields or grouse woods. We chose not to add any cost to this gun by restoring the barrel blue or case color, as some guys like them with that vintage, well used patina that comes with an older Parker that has been used afield.  We have 4 gunsmiths working on fine guns all week, and we could reblue the barrels and/or trigger guard, or even get Turnbull case colors on the receiver within a month or two of purchase if you so desire.  Buy the gun for this upland season, then send it back to us for upgrades if you so choose.   This gun will be a good investment for you as it will be worth more next year than it is this year as nice Parker 20ga. guns are becoming scarce.  Thanks for looking!
