This Remington is martially marked with a D.F.C. cartouche ( David F. Clark) on left grip panel. This revolver was factory converted to .46 rimfire and has a 5 shot cylinder. This Remington is in very nice condition with smooth metal and no pitting. The chambers of the cylinder are clean and the bore is excellent with sharp rifleing. The screw heads are all in good shape. The Walnut two piece grips are free of cracks and show twelve very small "notches" on the left panel below the cartouche. All markings are sharp, case colors show bright on the hammer, and the gun shows an even patina throughout. The revolver is slightly out of time (only if you cock it slowly), but locks up tight. This could be easily remedied by a competent gunsmith. Mechanically it is in very good condition and would be safe to shoot. The Remington New Model Army was carried by Buffalo Bill Cody from 1866 thru the mid 1870's for buffalo hunting and the Indian wars and he claimed "It never failed me.
