Description:
Ithaca gun Co., 16b.-- 2-Bbl / 2-Forend Set --First Year Production Minier / Flues Model Grade 4E--CASED !
 >>>>>>>>>SOLD>>>>>>>LISTING RETAINED FOR THE INTEREST OF ITHACA ENTHUSIASTS   >>>>>>>SOLD<<<<<<<< SOLD <<
.
This is a very rare Transition Gun with a much different frame contour than the flues model.
With two Barrels (Krupp & Damascus) And Two Forends Numbered to the barrels this is a very rare and original gun indeed.
Since this gun was built during the first year of Flues Production (Serial No. 1755xx) It retains many of the Minier
attributes in frame contour and embellishment.  Please inquire about this.    Krupp Barrels :  30", Choked M/F (barrel walls are .026" & .028" Min.)
                                                                                                                    Damascus Barrels: 26",Choked M/F (barrel Walls are .040" & .043" Min.)
Both barrel sets have early ejectors (however, one set is missing the forend internal mechanism) and are in excellent condition
inside and out.  Both barrels lock up tight and on face--even without forends attached.  Neither has been shot much--as witnessed
by the remaining barrel-wall minimum thickness. No dents, bulges, or riveling.
Perhaps the biggest problem for me, is the short (but original & uncut) LOP over the excellent butt plate of 13".  However, I have found
that the inclusion of a vintage leather boot adds an inch (or more if desired) to the LOP has made the gun perfectly shootable for me throughout
the years that I have owned it.
