FIRST YEAR Antique WINCHESTER Lever Action 1892
.32 WCF Rifle Made in 1892
Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle in .32 WCF, made in 1892 in New Haven, Connecticut. Another fantastic design from the mind of John Moses Browning, the 1892 was made to replace the venerable and iconic 1873 and featured its pistol caliber chamberings. The result was a trim and light rifle that was an immediate hit and stayed in production for almost 50 years.
This First Year Winchester 1892 features a 24-inch octagonal barrel chambered for .32 WCF. The top of the barrel reads “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A”. The breech end of the barrel is marked “32 WCF”. The receiver tang is marked “MODEL 1892 -WINCHESTER- PAT. OCT.14.1884”. The left side of the stock has “B C” carved into it.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in good shape, solid with handling marks. The bore is in generally good shape with some minor roughness throughout. The action on this rifle is excellent, strong and crisp. Here is your chance to own a scarce, early Winchester 1892!
