Here we present a Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Carbine in .25-20 WCF, made in 1923 in New Haven, Connecticut. Another fantastic design from the mind of John Moses Browning, the 1892 was made to replace the venerable and iconic 1873 and featured its pistol caliber chamberings. The result was a trim and light rifle that was an immediate hit and stayed in production for almost 50 years.
This Model 92 Carbine is a very handy size and features a 20-inch round barrel chambered for .25-20 WCF. The top of the barrel reads “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A”. The breech end of the barrel is marked “25-20 WCF”. The receiver tang is marked “MODEL 92 -WINCHESTER-”.
The overall condition is very good. About 60% of the blue finish remains. The markings are legible. The walnut stock is in very good shape. The bore is semi-bright with strong rifling. The action on this rifle is excellent. Here is a great rifle to reload for small game and varmints!
