Description:
SOLD...Excellent mint condition Smith & Wesson .32 caliber double action revolver with the original box... S/N 189761 and ALL matching of course. These guns made before S/N 209301 are antique pre 1898 so this is in the antique range. To start with, this is by far the best example of this model I have ever offered for sale in over 25 years... I have had several 95 % ones but nothing this nice. It shows absolutely no wear but from being in the original box for 130 years !!! This gun retains 99.99% bright original nickel finish. No scratches or dings. Has a couple pin head size specks in the nickel finish on the front FACE only of the cylinder and just shows a VERY light turn ring on the cylinder but it is not through the finish at all. NO missing or flaking nickel on this gun but the tiny specks mentioned.. 100% bright vivid case colors on the hammer and trigger. The barrel latch has 99% bright blue just thinned out on the outer edge knurling from opening the gun. The trigger guard has 99.99% bright blue with just a VERY small scuff mark not even through the blue on the very bottom from moving around in the box. This gun shows absolutely NO wear. The front sight is fire blued. Something you hardly ever see on nickel guns. This makes a beautiful contrast to the nickel finish.. I have a photo of a Smith & Wesson .32 single action with original fire blue front sight so they did install these on some nickel guns. They installed nickel sights on their blued guns …. I do not have a factory letter on this gun so it might have this special feature listed in the letter... The grips are mint with NO cracks or chips and a prefect factory fit. You can even see the very small PAT date on the left bottom {see photo}... This is usually never seen as they are always worn off from use. Grips retain all the very fine checkering and luster. Screw heads are untouched... Mechanics are excellent. This gun is crisp and tight as the day it left the factory PERIOD... The bore is near mint, bright and shiny with a couple very small specks of roughness. The chambers are mint like new bright and shiny... I am not sure this gun has ever been fired but no way of telling for sure. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch and the hinge of course. The original box is in excellent condition also. Solid hinge with NO tears. The outer finish on this box is 99%... Just a small tear INSIDE the box lower left corner. No repairs anywhere... Shows very light minimal wear to the outer corners only..Near perfect DIRECTION FOR USE label inside showing only a couple mars in the lettering from the gun moving around in the box. A small patch of cloth inside and what looks like a homemade wooden cleaning rod ???? This gun and box are in outstanding condition and very hard to find in this condition for a 130 year old set... This is as good as they get fellows... Near, if not totally impossible to improve on.. This would absolutely be the center piece of a Smith & Wesson collection of these small frame revolvers. I saw an old well known dealers add for one of these from 2006. Says mint condition with box $1150... so I think I have it priced very fairly..!!! Don't miss this one... Someone call me before I decide to keep it... $25 insured priority mail shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. You will love this gun or your money back..
