Description:
Absolutely beautiful rifle with multiple silver and brass inlays and carvings on its stunning curly maple stock.  Though this rifle is unsigned it is easily attributable to Mr. Albright based on review of his style from his other guns manufactured at the time. It is believed he made this rifle at his shop in Millheim, Pennsylvania as the patchbox is in typical upper Susquehanna style.  Very few were signed.  It is believed the only ones he signed were for his own use. It has a four piece engraved patchbox and its original ramrod although the latter is broken at the end.  This rifle was examined and cleaned by a well known local gunsmith that specialized in muzzleloader and antique guns.  This gun is very heavy and is .32 caliber and shootable if desired.  Over length is 54" with the barrel being about 33".  I believe this gun was manufactured between 1820 and 1830.  The stock is in extremely good condition with few light scratches and very little repair work.  No cracks or breaks. The lock and trigger work fine.  Very little oxidation on the barrel or lock.  You can reach me with questions at 570-971-2773.
