Description:
VERY FINE CONDITION 1871 U.S. ARMY .50 CAL. CENTER FIRE ROLLING BLOCK PISTOL. This is a really nice example with a good clear cartouche on the left side of the stocks. Has the correct “P” and “S” U.S. government proof stampings on the left side of the frame. Retains fine case colors on the left side of the frame and trigger guard side with the right side a bit more faded into mottled/cloudy gray with color in the more protected areas of the frame. Excellent Remington markings on the frame with equally excellent screw heads. Barrel blue is uncleaned and naturally ageing/thinning, but fine overall. Front sight is unaltered, MINT, BRIGHT BORE, excellent forearm and very fine walnut grip that does NOT have the usual dings on the butt that most of these seem to have. Very tight action and much, much better than usually encountered.
