Description:
This is a one owner rifle which I purchased new in the early 1950's. It was manufactured in December 1951 ( code XXX ) and the serial number on the barrel and bolt is 10592. The serial number on the stock and butt plate is 14259. According to Remington Arms ( 800-242-9700 ) at the time this rifle was manufactured at the end of production runs they assembled rifles from parts with different serial numbers . All finishes are original. It was very lightly used for two months in the summer for two or three years. It comes with a single shot adapter, a Redfield Olympic front sight with 12 inserts, a rear sight ( which I believe is also a Redfield Olympic sight ), the original leather sling, a reproduction of the instruction manual and a Browning soft padded case. There is a small scratch on the stock and another on the forestock plus a numer of other small scratches and dents on the stock which are only visible on close inspection. I'd say the blueing is better than 80% ( there is a 1 1/2" long area on the right side of the barrel where it is missing which does not show on the photo ). For a 65+ year old gun I think it is in remarkably good condition, but check out the pictures and judge for yourself.
