Description:

Frank E. Malin was a British gunmaker who emigrated to Canada and began making guns there, bringing with him trained English gunmakers. He also imported guns and accessories from England, both rifles and shotguns.  This is an early Victoria Grade gun built in the heyday of the business (1981) when they spent whatever time was necessary to build a best gun.  The engraving and gold inlay are just superb and supremely well executed. The smoky streaks on the stock is hard to beat.  Bluing and wood finish are essentially new.  The case and stock oval are marked for John McLean, the original owner. When you pick up the gun with either barrel set, it feels like a wand in the hands because most of the weight is between the hands so that the moment of inertia is small, allowing the gun to easily be swung to the target. The small beavertail fore end fills the hand naturally and aids in pointing.   This gun has 26" and 28" barrels and has neutral cast. Stock dimensions are 15-1/2 X 2-1/4 X 1-1/2 inches.  That sounds like a really long stock but I shoot it pretty well and I shoot a 14-3/4" LOP.   A new owner can always shorten the stock and rechecker the butt.  This gun comes with a nice fitted leather case with accessories and a cover. Choke dimensions are Skeet/IC in the 26" barrels and M/F in the 28" set.  More details are shown on a card in one of the pictures . The gun weighs 6 pounds 1 oz with the 26" barrels and 6 lb 2 oz with the 28" set.  FFL required, Add $75 shipping with insurance, $100 to AK and HI.  Three day, no shoot, no disassemble inspection period. If returned,  the shipping cost will be deducted from the refund. Contact Allan at 423 262 9394.
