Description:
David McKay Brown 12 gauge Renaissance Scroll grade SxS shotgun. The finest example of a ‘trigger plate’ action shotgun today the McKay Brown is a truly magnificent work of gun making art. Weighing a scant 6 lbs. 1 oz. due to the diminutive round body frame that houses the action this truly a best upland game gun. 27” barrels fitted with a smooth concave solid rib that tapers from 11/32” at the breech to ¼” at the muzzle and has a silver front bead. The mirror perfect barrels have .729” bores and .004” choke in the right barrel and .007” choke in the left barrel, or light skeet & light I/C. 2 ¾” chamber length; London proofed in 1999. Part of the unique frame are these extra features: concealed third fastener in the barrel extension, assisted opening with the automatic ejectors and double triggers. Gorgeous straight hand stock with a 14 1/8” LOP over a ½” full leather pad that can easily be lengthened to 14 5/8” by simply fitting a more standard 1” pad. Drop at the comb is 1 3/8” and drop at the heel is 1 7/8” with a very slight amount of cast favoring a right hand shooter.
That by itself would make for a fabulous gun…
Now add the magnificent Creative Arts engraving making this a Renaissance Scroll grade with the masterfully detailed bulino engraved grouse on the bottom, the unique Scottish thistle deeply cut on the fences along with 100% frame coverage. Now it is beyond fabulous!
The gun comes in a maker’s full leather motor case with a full set of three fitted turn screws, brass oiler, snap caps, two piece cleaning rod and cleaning accessories.
