This is for a beautiful Colt Sauer Sporting Rifle. The rifle is a short action chambered in .308 Winchester. Only produced from 1976-1985, the .308 is the 2nd rarest (behind 22-250), and most desirable caliber.
The Colt Sauer rifle featured an 18-line hand checkered walnut stock, rosewood forend and the metal was finished in Colt royal blue. The unique bolt locks up without rotating due to three internally-cammed locking lugs.
This particular example is immaculate. The wood retains 99% of it's original high gloss finish, as does the bluing. The original factory recoil pad shows no wear.
