Description:
Beautiful P&V Maestro Model Sporting Shotgun.  This 12 Gauge features 2-3/4″ chambers, with 30″ Demi-bloc barrels fitted with a matted, ventilated top andventilated side ribs.  Barrels are marked “KENNEDY COMPETITION” and “MADE BY PERUGINI & VISINI ITALY” at left rear. Barrel flats are stamped with 2000 Italian nitro proofs and SN 2634.  Low profile, coin finished, O/U action with extensively engraved game scene lockplates with a removable trigger group featuring a non-automatic safety and coin finished single non-selective adjustable trigger.   The action is hand engraved with exceptionally well cut, large, open shaded, game scene vignettes featuring semi-relief gold inlaid quail flushing from cover on both sides of the action and bottom.  Bottom of action is also inlaid “PERUGINI & VISINI”.
The left lockplate depicts a covey of 5 quail flushing away from the viewer and from brush toward an open field.  Top of the left side action also features gold inlaid acanthus style scroll. The right side depicts 4 more quail also departing toward an open field, one quail appearing to veer toward the viewer.
The bottom of the action and trigger guard continue the quail theme with additional inlaid quail and acanthus style scroll.
This beautiful and well done engraving is by “R. Greco” the reknowned Belgian engraver, whose signature appears on left side of trigger group.   The stock and fore end features fine exhibition quality, dramatically marbled and nicely flame figured European walnut with a pistol grip buttstock (no palm swell) which measures 14 7/8″ (from approximately the middle trigger position) over a black KICKEEZ pad w/spacer.  Note the stock measures approximately 13 7/16" to the end of the walnut stock from the same middle trigger position. This stock can be readily shortened for a shooter needing a bit less length. Point pattern checkering with line borders at the grip. Matching schnabel forend has a Deeley type release.   The barrels feature black oxide 1" extended Briley removable choke tubes (xxx and xxx).
