Description:
The Remington Model 870 TC Wingmaster was introduced in 1950 and was produced until 1979.  It was offered as a 870TB or 870TC model, with the "T" standing for Trap and the "B" or "C" standing for the grade of wood with "C" being the best.  Remington re-introduced the model in 1996 thru 1999 until it was discontinued again.  The first production run guns are sought after by collectors and trap shooters alike.  This example is serial number T252720V and was manufactured in 1974.  This Trap special features a high grade "C" Walnut stock set with hand-cut checkering built to trap dimensions.  Originally from the factory it would have had a vent rib barrel choked "Full", but now has a 26" (25.5") inch ventilated rib barrel choked "Skeet".  This Remington is in excellent condition overall and is very attractive.  It is obvious given the condition and feel of this shotgun that it has been fired very little.  The original factory gloss blue finish on all of the metal parts is still nice and bright with a clean look to it.  Under close inspection it shows some small handling marks and a couple of small spots where it had light surface rust previously, but rates 96% overall.  As you can see in the pictures, the bottom of the shell lifter does not even have a stripe worn on it from being loaded.  The bore is minty and bright in this 870TC Wingmaster.  There is no pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections visible of any kind.  The vent rib is in perfect shape with no dents or damage and is still perfectly tight to the barrel.  The factory deluxe Grade "C" Walnut stock set on this Remington is exceptional.  The hand-cut checkering is still crisp and clean, and both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks or repairs.  Only under close inspection can you find some very minor dings and scratches in the wood finish, and none of these detract from the beautiful overall look of the stock set.  Both the forearm and buttstock have lots of contrasting figure in them on BOTH sides, and they match each other in appearance perfectly.  All of the controls on this shotgun work 100% like the day it left the factory.  The action is smooth and locks into battery perfectly, and the trigger is nice and crisp.  This Remington 870TC Wingmaster would be an excellent addition to any collection.  It is as classy and attractive as any 870 Wingmaster we have had in the last few years, and with the Skeet barrel on it you could carry it to any skeet field, dove field, or upland bird hunt with pride.
