Description:
Original configuration Remington Model 1917 rifle, chambered in 30-06. Barrel date is 9/18, R over flaming bomb over 9 18. On the stock right behind the trigger is visible the stamp of an eagle's head with the beak to the left. R stamp at the very front of the stock under the barrel. Bolt is R marked as well with the flaming bomb as is the left side of the action (flaming bomb). Bore is bright and clean with strong rifling. I doubt very much that this rifle has been shot much. Unfortunately there are some hammer strikes on the bolt handle. Looks like a case may have ruptured and the bolt was jammed and someone took a hammer to it to drive it out. Priced accordingly. Otherwise this appears to me to be a very lightly used, original parts, original stock and original finsh 1917. In order to protect your investment, all long guns over $500 must be shipped in a hard case. Minimum shipping at this level is $55 and includes the hard case. Shipping cost could increase depending on value or weight of the firearm. For long guns less than $500, we still recommend the purchase of a hard case, again to protect your investment.
