Description:
Another fine “ESTATE” firearm offered by Dust 2 Dollars. We offer you a GORGEOUS Massachusetts Arms Co. 1863 2nd Model Maynard Patent Carbine Blue & Case Colored. This gun has been in the same family for over 100 years and just sitting in an old trunk until now. This is a “Very High” condition piece as you can see in the pictures. The bore on the Carbine is in “MINT” condition! The Carbine has seen very little use if any at all in the past 155 years! The case colors are amazing and the original bluing on the barrel is in the same condition. The wood shows a few marks from storage with “CRISP” cartouches. These guns don’t show up very often in this condition. The left side of the receiver is marked “EDWARD MAYNARD / PATENTEE / MAY 27. 1851. / DEC. 6. 1859.”. The right side of the receiver is marked “MANUFACTURED B Y / MASS. ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS”. The lower tang is marked “13282”. The left side of the barrel at the receiver is marked with an ordnance sub-inspection mark; “G.W.S.”; (G. W. Schuman). There is a saddle ring and bar mounted on the left side of the frame and is stamped with an “S”. The smooth oil finished walnut straight grip stock shows a sharp script "AJN" and "JM" boxed cartouches on the left wrist and a small "S" on top of the butt plate. There are three leafs, each with a “U” notch in the top edge. The rear face of the middle leaf is marked “3” and the front leaf is marked “5”. The sight base has an inspectors mark “S”. All of the screw head slots are excellent with no defects and still wear the bright blue finish. $5,999 plus $75 for shipping directly to you where allowed!  3% convenience fee added to the total for CC payments. All firearms come with a 3-day inspection from D2D’s.
