Description:
Unique Model 1873 Wincester Repeating Rifle beautifully decorated on fore-arm with leather, beadwork, tacks and feathers; stock is studded,  bone inlay at top. 23-3/4" barrel - serial # 431774. Bought from an Apache Indian in 1890's. "32-WCF". The original butt plate was removed (Indians found the butt plates were better used as hide scrapers) and replaced with a piece of leather fastened with small nails and tacks and a bone filler piece on top. A fine old Apache used Winchester "loaded" with charm.

Update: Just came acrose a Sioux Indian rifle with beadwork on the fore end like this one in a book "Firearms in the Custer Battle".
