Colt commercial Government Model 1911 chambered in .45 A.C.P. Produced from 1912 to 1925, this model featured a 5" barrel, fixed sights, 7 shot magazine, and a flat mainspring housing. This colt was produced in 1917 and appears to be an old re-finish. The nickel finish remaining would rate at 95%. None of the lettering or other markings are washed out and are still pretty sharp. The metal on this gun is smooth with no pitting evident under the nickel finish. There are various small handling marks and scratches throughout the finish. The gun is excellent mechanical condition and all functions work as they should. All parts are period correct on this gun except for the barrel, which is a WW2 Springfiled Arsenal replacement barrel. The bore is in excellent condition. A nice old Colt that would make an excellent shooter. One nickel magazine with lanyard is included. Sorry no box or paperwork.
