CIVIL WAR SAVAGE REVOLVING FIRE ARMS CO. NEW JERSEY CONTRACT U.S. MODEL 1861 .58 CAL. RIFLE MUSKET DATED 1863. 40” barrel dated 1863. Lock with matching date and “EAGLE/U.S.” stamped forward of the hammer with the maker name and “MIDDLETOWN, CT.”. All original and matching in very good plus to fine condition. Metal with light grey patina and good markings. Barrel stamped at left breech “N.J.” and with excellent bore with near mint rifling. Stock with minor dings but visible “N.J.” inspector’s stamp opposite the lock. Original ramrod. Nice all original and matching New Jersey Volunteers Savage Model 1861.
