Description:
Serial #3480 (Conversion #209), .38 RF, 4 1/2" octagon barrel with a very good, lightly freckled bore. This is a very nice little Remington conversion that has matching conversion numbers on the two-piece cylinder, and mismatched numbers on the frame and barrel (3480 and 5255 respectively). The metal retains 98-99% of a mixed original (on the barrel and cylinder), and re-nickel finish that has flaked in some spots and also exhibits spots of dark freckling, heaviest around the exterior of the cylinder and on the gripstraps which have visible dark underlying metal. The walnut grips are in fine condition with scattered minor handling marks and light blemishes, and the lock-up is still tight with good timing and an fully functional action. This is a very good plus, small frame Remington cartridge conversion and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
