The C Grade Fox is considered by most to be one of the most handsome of the A.H. Fox Graded guns, with its finely cut English scroll, game scene engraving, and nicely engraved trigger guard.  The C Grade shipped with European walnut figured well on both sides of the stock and was the first level of decoration that is considered a high-grade Fox.  Usually you can find a few Fox CE 12ga. guns for sale on the internet, and some seem like nice guns…some are.  However, if you consider more than just the grade and looks of the gun you see in the photos, you may find yourself hard-pressed to know what you are looking at.  Many offered lack any real information on which to base a decision.  A shotgunner should want to know specifics…stock dimensions, choke constrictions, minimum wall thicknesses, weight, balance point, trigger pulls…in addition to what the gun looks like in the pics.  In fact, most of the photos show no real details of the gun.  Don’t you want to know you will be able to shoot the Fox well?  Additionally, have the barrels been cut, stock cut, is there a poorly installed modern-day pad on the fine vintage Fox?  If you don’t have the factory info how do you know?  These guns cost a good bit of money, and making wise decisions requires adequate information.  This fine A.H. Fox CE, sn29298 made in 1924, is an exceptional Fox with its long 32” No. 2 weight barrels, M/F chokes, mirror bores, gorgeous wood, and perfect mechanics.  The barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun with the lever well right of center.  The ribs are tight as well.  The beautifully figured European walnut stock has modern dimensions and terminates in the original buttplate.  YOU WILL FIND THE SPECIFICATIONS IN THE TABLES BELOW.  In today’s world of desirable features, long barrels are all the rage for the rising popularity of the vintage sporting clays games.  We all should have at least one great long-range, heavy 12ga. Fox in our quiver for shooting heavy loads at pheasants, waterfowl, turkey, western upland birds that flush wild, and the occasional crow and pigeon hunts we like to do when other seasons are closed.  This Fox CE will fill that niche to perfection.  Weighing in at 7lbs. 9oz. and balanced 3/8” ahead of the hinge pin, these long barrels will keep you swinging.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN, HAVING BEEN STRIPPED TO IT SMALLEST PARTS, PLACED IN THE ULTRASONIC CLEANER, ALL PARTS SCRUBBED, INSPECTED FOR INTEGRITY AND FUNCTION, LUBRICATED PROPERLY, AND REASSEMBLED.  This is a $275 service that brings with it a 90-day mechanical warranty and peace of mind that you are starting your relationship with your new Fox on the right foot.  We had Turnbull Restorations do the bone and charcoal case colors and charcoal blue on the trigger guard while she was apart.  The barrels, wood, and checkering are awesome and left just the way we found this one.  The gun looks like a new Fox with just the perfect amount of wear on her.  Look at the screws, wood-to-metal fit, the engraving and checkering…all the details that come together to make a most desirable gun.  THIS IS A GREAT, LONG BARRELED FOX AND A GREAT INVESTMENT QUALITY GUN.  Thanks for looking!
