Description:
For the most discriminating collector out there. Here is an absolutely Mint Condition, New in Box Ithaca 37S Skeet grade 12 gauge pump action shotgun. To my knowledge, this beautiful and rare grade shotgun had remained unassembled for the past 72 years until these photos were taken! Serial number is 81*** indicating a manufacture date of 1946. Both barrel and receiver are correctly numbered, along with the letter "S" immediately above receiver's # confirming it's genuine Skeet configuration. It features a 26" barrel with wide deck ventilated rib, which wears the correct red bead front sight and ivory bead middle sight. These Skeet grades were offered in a variety of available chokes and this one is choked Full. Chamber is 2 3/4". The wood is gorgeous with very nice figure and sharp hand cut checkering. Length of pull to factory plate is 14".
The original box remains in good condition with intact end label that is slightly tattered on the margins. Also included is the original wooden plug and original seller's hang tag.
This incredible shotgun will almost certainly prove to be the very finest, and perhaps only genuine NIB Ithaca 37S that most of you will ever see offered for sale.
