Description:
1930 Colt New Service chambered in .45lc. This is a factory Fitz Special with a cutaway trigger gaurd, rounded hammer, and special front sight. This is one of only a handfull of big bore New Service Fitz Specials ever made. Per the Colt archive letter it was shipped November 26, 1930 to Clapp & Treat in Hartford Conneticut. This is a collector grade gun. The finish retains all of it's original dark shine throughout. There is no high edge wear whatsoever which is quite rare as these were designed to be carried in your pocket. There are only a few fine pinhead marks and this is the only thing that detracts. The finish rates a very solid 99%. The cylinder face, recoil shield, and forcing cone are very clean and show little use. The bore is bright and shiny. The grips are flat out exceptional. These guns almost never appear for sale. To find one like this is almost impossible. It will be on the top shelf of even the most advanced Pre War Colt collection.
