I have for sale an early 1930’s Remington Model 17 in 20 Gauge of course, as all 17’s were made in 20 Gauge only. This little gun was the forerunner to the iconic Ithaca Model 37 as Ithaca purchased the patent rights to the Remington 17 and used them to develop there 37. It has bottom ejection and is a delight to carry and shoot. The 17 was much slimmer and lighter than the Ithaca 37. This is particularly noticeable in the forend of the 17. Very slim and petite. This 17 has survived in very nice condition. Most were used and abused. The stock has use marks but no cracks or damage. The bluing is good on both the barrel and receiver with some stippling and wear present. All in all a very nice example of a nice early pump gun that will not break the bank to own and hunt with. It weighs jus 5 Lb 13 Oz and has a 14” LOP to the original hard buttplate. The finish is original and has not been messed with. The gun functions perfectly and is buttery smooth when you cycle it. Works for right- or left-hand shooters. It has a 28” full choked barrel, as most did. I put a spreader load in for my first shot and then back it up with a regular 20 Gauge Load. That way I have a more open pattern for my first shot, and then the fuller choke for a follow up shot. Price is $475 with shipping and insurance to your FFL $35. Thanks for looking.
