For sale, a commercial Colt 1895 New Navy Model revolver chambered for the .38 short and long Colt cartridge. What makes this particular New Navy unusual is the 3 inch barrel length and the factory nickel finish. The 3 inch barrel variations are seldom seen and even more seldom seen with a factory nickel finish. This Colt functions perfectly in both single and double action modes of firing. The factory black checkered hard rubber Colt logo grips are in excellent shape. They are fit perfectly and are nice and tight to the frame. The original Colt factory nickel finish rates at about 50%, but the areas where the nickel has flaked off blend well with the rest of the gun. There are some nice areas remaining of the old high polish Colt factory blue finish on the screws, trigger, and particularly the top and back side of the hammer that give some contrast to the nickel finish. The bore has some shallow pitting in spots but does have nice, strong rifling remaining. This Colt has a great look to it overall. This is a great chance to get a combination of finish and barrel length seldom seen today.
